The Swedish perfume brand Stora Skuggan was started by five artists who met while studying at Stockholm's Beckmans College of Design: Anna Barkne, Tomas Hempel, Olle Hemmendorff, Jonas Nordin, and Martin Nicolausson. The group launched Stora Skuggan in 2015 after years of experimentation. They wanted full control over every part of the perfume-making process, from formulation to branding and packaging. Stora Skuggan's fragrances are called "scented stories" and are inspired by various sources, including history, mysticism, and pop culture. The brand's aim is to create unique fragrances that combine conceptual ideas with wearable art.
